Craftsmanship & Techniques

Mortise-and-tenon joinery has been documented in the ancient Yingzao Fashi construction standard for centuries. The technique allows wood to expand and contract naturally, reducing corrosion risk and ensuring longevity. Open, blind, and through joints are used depending on structural needs.
