Mortise-and-tenon joinery has been documented in the ancient Yingzao Fashi construction standard for centuries. The technique allows wood to expand and contract naturally, reducing corrosion risk and ensuring longevity. Open, blind, and through joints are used depending on structural needs. Master craftsmen inspect every joint for a perfect fit before assembly.
In 2022, we completed a 5m×5m double-eaved hexagonal pavilion for a private estate. The client required a design matching existing architecture. Delivered in 7 weeks, the pavilion now serves as the garden’s centerpiece.
