FAQ

What is the maximum height?

Standard designs available: 2-story (约6-8m), 3-story (约9-12m), and 4-story (约12-16m). Custom heights available. All structures are engineer-certified for wind load and seismic conditions at the specific site location.

What is the structural system?

Traditional timber frame with added modern structural engineering: Douglas fir or pine main columns with grain orientation for maximum strength, mortise-tenon joint reinforcement with hidden steel pins, shear walls with OSB sheathing for lateral stability, and steel moment connections at critical joints.

Can this be installed in seismic zones?

Yes. For seismic zones, we employ a reinforced timber frame: additional steel moment connections at column-base and beam-column joints, OSB diaphragm sheathing on each floor, and a reinforced concrete foundation with anchor bolts. Engineering calculations are provided for local building codes in any country.

Installation & Operation Guide

1

Foundation Preparation

Excavate for a full-mat reinforced concrete foundation. For multi-story towers, a significant foundation (full perimeter strip or mat) is required to distribute loads. Anchor bolts are set in the concrete in precise positions matching the ground floor column layout.

2

Ground Floor Frame

Erect the ground floor columns and beams using the numbered kit components. Install all mortise-tenon joints with wood glue and dowels. Verify levelness and plumbness. Install floor diaphragms (plywood/OSB sheathing) for in-plane stiffness.

3

Progressive Upper Floor Installation

Working from bottom to top, install each successive floor frame in the same manner. Each floor's columns bear directly on the floor beam below — traditional Chinese layered construction. Install dougong bracket sets at each eave for traditional appearance.

4

Roof Installation

Install the roof frame using the traditional cantilevered bracket system. Apply waterproof membrane across the entire roof area. Install roof tiles (clay or slate) from the eave tiles upward to the ridge. Flash all roof-wall junctions.

5

Stair & Interior

Install timber stairs between floors (with optional steel reinforcement for public access towers). Install railings and balustrades to local building code height (typically 900-1100mm). Apply interior and exterior finishes per specification.

6

Engineering Certification & Handover

Conduct a structural inspection and verify all connections against the engineering drawings. For public towers: arrange for a local engineer to verify the installation. Provide as-built drawings, structural certificate, and maintenance manual.
